See GI Dr.: I have never had this question before but it is a good one. I would see a GI specialist and make sure you do not have an ulcer or something else. The treatment of the gerd usually is different from anxiety. Anxiety can cause gerd so you need treatment for the anxiety. Perhaps if the anxiety is controlled you may not need rx for gerd. However the gerd still may need rx if separate.
