A member asked:

How common is it for somebody to get neck trauma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Common: The neck supports your heavy head with flexibility and the ability to allow passage of major nerves, breathing and alimentary tubes. It is vulnerable to strain in athletic contests and especially auto accidents. Neck trauma with strain can cause local pain, referred nerve pain and muscle dysfunction. If severe you can fracture neck bones. See your orthopod for this. Avoid chiropractors.
