Depends: That depends of the nature of the trauma and the extent of damage to the neck. The amount of damage is determined by the trajectory and amplitude of the energy applied to the neck at the time of trauma. If there is bony damage, it may take weeks to months to heal. Damage to the spinal cord my never resolve completely. Damage to the soft tissue resolves usually in days to weeks.
