Alcohol for ADD?: Alcohol is no substitute for appropriate management of add. It also has long term side effects if you use it continuously. You should be seen by a psychologist who does neuropsychological testing. That is the most diret approach to diagnosis. With the results your physician may prescribe medication or refer you to a psychiatrist.
