See a doctor: If you think you ankle is infected you should get evaluated by a doctor as soon as possible. If it is it requires medical treatment as soon as possible to avoid long term complications. Signs of infected are: pain, swelling, warmth, fever/chills and pain on motion of the ankle. Your evalaution could include blood work and special xray tests like an mri.
