Some: Laser lead extraction of implanted wires is common and becoming safer. Laser trans myocardial penetration for revasculariazion ( sometimes with coronary bypass) is also available.

Alternative: Trans-myocardial revascularization is a technique developed in the mid 1980's to get blood supply to areas of the heart not amenable to bypass surgery. It has remained an alternative therapy, but the effectiveness has not been proven. It is an option if all other options are eliminated.
