Not long: 2 - 3 days providing testicle is viable. Recovery will be prolonged if testis has not survived, in which case recovery will be much quicker if dead testis is removed surgically. Doppler blood flow on ultrasound can demonstrate a dead testis because there will be no blood flow. Hope the torsion was corrected within n6 hours of occurrence, otherwise testis may be dead. Vary but short...: The duration of postop recovery may highly vary from as short as one week to as long as 4-6 weeks, but usually within 2 weeks. In fact, most of my patients returned to work in 1-2 weeks.
