Mortality TKR: This is certainly a complication of any surgery. It will be necessary to get medical clearance by your primary doctor and/or pulmonologist or cardiologist if you have any lung or heart conditions prior to the surgery. Mortality from total knee surgery is exceedingly low. You will be placed on a blood thinner after surgery to prevent blood clots.
