Now it seems a bit : Recent research seems to be pointing toward a role for genetics in a predisposition for developing at least some eating disorders - i.e., anorexia. I'm not sure that it would make any difference to the challenges of treatment. These are difficult to control and take courage and commitment. People do succeed, and they deserve a lot of credit!

Anorexia: This is one theory as to predisposition but does not always apply. Psycho social factors are important in etiology.
