A member asked:

Have heard of anorexia, and bulimia. but are there other common eating disorders?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Eating disorders: Anorexia and bulimia are the most life-threatening eating disorders. Others include binge eating disorder and, of course, obesity. Less common eating issues also exist, like pica, which involves eating non-food items (e.g. Dirt) and "orthorexia, " in which only the "right" foods can be eaten (only organic, local, vegan, etc.). Note : intense exercise to purge is an aspect of an eating disorder.
