A member asked:

What medications are usually given for eating disorders? either for bulimia, binge eating, or anorexia?

That depends: On whether you have associated MEDICAL ISSUES that require medication. In rare cases eating disorders have a purely medical or neurological basis. Most of the time these are psychiatric types of issues which can be approached with or without medication. Need a good clean diagnosis first by a trained expert. Search out a good psychologist/psychiatrist for guidance and help.

Both are significant problems. Please have a complete physical exam to know if you have a physical illness. Then see a clinical psychologist with expertise in multiple types of psychotherapy for help coping and a Psychiatrist for medication. A support group can be helpful.
