Get to the cause: Xanax (alprazolam) or Alprazolam is an anti anxiety med. Palpitations are often associated with stress and anxiety, however, it would be best to go to your doctor for an evaluation including an ekg and bloodwork to make sure there are no other causes for the irregular beats. If anxiety is the cause, then xanax (alprazolam) may be prescribed.
