Don't lose hope: Meds and therapy do help, but it may take some time. Unfortunately we have no way of knowing which meds will help for who so it is often a matter of trial and error to find the most effective with fewest side effects. As far as therapy, let your therapist know you are frustrated with your lack of progress so (s)he can best help you. Hang in there. I hope you feel better soon.

Depression: Your question is one that many don't have the courage to ask so please try not to be embarrassed. Stay with your therapy as it takes time to take hold and it often gets worse before it gets better. Behavior therapy may not be ideal for you, discuss your disappointment with your therapist and ask for help deciding if you need a different approach that possible focuses more on past unresloved hurts.
