My 11 month old will not lay flat, he screams & fights until he gets out from that position. i have to change his diaper while he stands. why is this?

Because he can: It is very common for kids to go through such a phase. They like to be "doing" . Up and busy- and laying down restricts that. Lol changed both my boys standing for months. You can attempt changing his diaper in places other than the changing table so he will perhaps be more compliant. You can also do the opposite so that he learns that his diaper is changed on the changing table- as a boundary.
