Nerve injury: This may have been due to injury to a nerve in your leg. In particular, a nerve on the outside of the knee that winds around the head of the fibula and supplies areas of the leg, ankle and foot. Things for consideration include: if there is swelling, pain or redness in your leg, especially in the calve area. These symptoms would be more serious.
