Sleep apnea: Your husband could use a sleep study. Sleep apnea is an under recognized and under diagnosed problem that plagues millions of people. It's a slow process that takes decades to evolve and causes a myriad of adverse health conditions. I recommend a formal sleep study from a sleep lab and likely the use of CPAP thereafter. See below: He could have obstructive sleep apnea based on the description you provided. This is where you do not get enough oxygen in your body at night. It is confirmed with a sleep study. If it goes untreated, it can cause fatigue, joint and muscle pain, weight gain, hypertension, depression symptoms, and eventually increase his risk for stroke. Have him see his dr. And hope this helps.
