Several possibilitie: S. Assuming you have had no head injury, it is most likely a headache of sorts. As you may know, some headaches can cause scalp tenderness even in the absence of "traditional" headache pain. If the pain persists, it never hurts to call your physician, however try not to worry excessively, as anxiety may worsen the underlying headache.
