Danger Danger: This is not a safe drug to take on any kind of routine basis for sleep. It is terribly addicting. It does not provide for good deep sleep. And, when taking it one loses the natural ability to sleep. If your doctor does not care about your health and not willing to come up with a healthier sleep remedy (such as learning how to sleep naturally again) then you may want to consider someone else.

Tolerance: Like all benzodiazepines, Klonopin (clonazepam) induces tolerance so that you have to take more of it in order to have the same effect. Rather than relying on klonopin, (clonazepam) you need to evaluate the cause(s) of your insomnia and treat those. Klonopin (clonazepam) is habit-forming and is not curing your problem. A psychiatrist can help you with this. I would not recommend increasing the Klonopin (clonazepam) dose.
