Gastroenteritis: Without any more information such as if she is feverish or on any new medication or what else is going on. First, if her heart rate is over 130 she needs to be seen in the er to get IV fluids. If she is not feverish she can take immodium. Please remember the brat diet and diarrhea: peeled apples or applesause, rice or rice water, unbuttered toast and bananas are used the world over to stop this.

Family prac: She need to be seen by her dr. A stool sample can be collected and examined for parasites or other pathogens. She may have depleted her electrolytes. If so, IV fluids may be needed.
