Nothing's premanent: Lots can be done with hair but the way it grows naturally is distinctive for you. Truth be told -- i'm not a beauty expert, but there's a lot to be said for embracing your genetic background, whatever it is i'm betting there's a style that you'd like and would be perfect for a curly-mop young lady like yourself. Get with several folks who know how to style hair and decide what's right for you.

Genetics: The way your hair grows (curly, straight, etc) is determined by your genetic makeup. You can straighten the hair that's already on your head, but new growth will be true to your genes -- and the straightening may need to be done each time you wash your hair. Talk with a dermatologist or hair stylist about this.
