Impetigo: This skin condition is also called impetigo and is often seen in children between 2-6. It can occur at any age however as is caused by either staph or strep bacteria. It can be safely treated using topical antibiotic creams prescribed by a physician. Mupirocin ("bactroban") is a common medication that should result in improvement in generally 3 days. Its contagious so practice good hygiene!
