Hard to say: It really depends on why you have not had a bowel movement in 4 days-- mechanical obstruction, not eating much, or related to narcotic constipation? Definitely talk to your inpatient medical team so that you feel more comfortable about why you have not had a bowel movement, especially if you are accustomed to regular stools.
