Inadequate: In a late teen 5 hours of sleep is inadequate. First find out why: emotion, chronic pain, poor sleeping environment, metabolic abnormal tissue issue. Get some blood tests and if normal look into: medicinal cannabis (in states where it is legal), melatonin, magnesium, and valerian root herbal tea are variously useful. Study meditation ; learn how to focus your mind.

Sleepless Slumber: At age 18 years old, the first thing you need to do is practice excellent sleep hygiene. Go to bed & get up at the same time every day. Your bedroom should be used only for sleep - not for computers, tv or long cell phone chats. No late night exercise or meals. At your age you wouldn't (shouldn't) be drinking alcohol but also cut down on (or out) caffeine. Cont'd.

Sleepless: Your question was cut off, but it seems that you have primary insomnia, assuming that you don't drink alcohol or use drugs, and that the problem has been there for a while. Recommend the sleep hygiene techniques (google that sentence & you get details), & if that fails, try low dose melatonin, & if that fails, see your pcp for other alternatives.
