Trust: Gynecologist are well aware of such feelings and are sensitive to your fears and needs. They will do nothing that you don't want but will discuss your feelings. You might also discuss if possible with your mother or a trusted friend. You are actually in control in this situation.

Common feelings: Much of what a gynecologist needs to know about you they discover through taking a history and doing a general exam. You are certainly not the first with such feelings & most will work with you on this.Today's technology allows them to gain some info that would otherwise require a full pelvic exam. When/if needed they have specialized equipment to do a minimalist exam.
