Fascinating question: Your question opens the door to many other questions. Some clinical studies indicate that tryptophan deficiency may worsen ocd, since the Amino Acid tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin. Also, tryptophan supplementation can improve ocd in some cases. http://tinyurl.com/kamrt22 if a vegetarian diet doesn't supply enough of this nutrient, ocd might worsen. B12 & omega-3's may be low also.

Several docs have: suggested a nutritional approach. You might consider a micronutritent test from Spectracell lab in TX. This will tell you your nutritional status and you can eat/supplement accordingly and also work at keeping your OCD thoughts about health at bay by having this information. Peace and good health. Good fat, e.g., olive oil and coconut oil, is good for the brain. Check w/doc first.
