Good for discussion: Your concerns about taking medication are good for discussion with your doctor. What kind of changes are you specifically worried about? I'm sure your doctor wants to help decrease your symptoms so that you can be as much yourself as possible. But, many people with ocd have symptoms of indecision and doubt. I hope you'll talk out your worries with your doctor, and trust what s/he tells you.

Bipolar: If your diagnosis of bi-polar in particular is accurate is it quite likely you will need to take medications for this difficulty to live a normal life. However patients I have treated who also commit to psychotherapy and begin an exercise and nutrition program often can reduce the meds and some have even discontinued all meds in time. Treatment can help you and hopefully allow you to feel better.
