Individuality: Symptoms of depression can be associated with dysfunction in brain chemistry including several different neurotransmitters. Some older antidepressants impact many of them but have other side effects that are unpleasant. Newer medications typically target one or two NT systems and so sometimes they don't address your system correctly. Discuss with your doctor to find best option, meds or lifesty.

All drugs "work": All drugs "work" -- for at least someone. That someone may or may not be you, with a particular drug. It may take you & your doctor some time to come to a regimen that helps you. At the same time, it's important that you take charge of your lifestyle -- eliminating depressogenic substances like alcohol, eating healthy foods, staying physically active, connecting with others, & working in therapy.
