A member asked:

Is locking an agitated resident in his room until he calms down a deprivation of liberty?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: It's hard to say not knowing the exact situation and condition of the resident. When a person becomes agitated, something in the environment is overstimulating him. The person needs to be removed from that stimulation. Also, to protect other residents as well and staff a person might be restrained physically or chemically and well-being checks might be done.
