A member asked:

Would blood in stool be uniformly black or red, not just black flecks throughout otherwise normal stool in 2 yo? would there be pain/appetite decrease

Varies: If it came from the outlet, it would be bright red. If it spent some time in the intestine, it begins to break down and change color. Currant jelly purplish for higher in the colon, black and tar like if it came from the small intestine, and like coffee grounds if it came from or above the stomach.
