Varies: If it came from the outlet, it would be bright red. If it spent some time in the intestine, it begins to break down and change color. Currant jelly purplish for higher in the colon, black and tar like if it came from the small intestine, and like coffee grounds if it came from or above the stomach.

Blood abnl in stool: Any blood in a 2 yo is abnl. This needs to be investigated. And it cld be assoc with pain and decreased appetite. Check with a pediatric surgeon.
