Family docs deliver: At the risk of upsetting my OB colleagues, i would suggest you skip over gender issue regarding your doctor. There are just as many male & female physicians who have excellent bedside manners as those who don't. But would you consider expanding your options to include family physicians who deliver babies (it's part of our training). Granted not every doc does but those who do really care about pts.
