No: He should see a doctor immediately. An anal fissure, or tear, can cause severe anal pain with bleeding.; however, more serious problems, like cancer, can present the same way. Your husband needs to see a doctor and have a colonoscopy immediately.

Maybe: Need to see doctor to be evaluated with an endoscopy and colonoscopy to make sure nothing else serious is going on.

There is no swelling or extreme pain. But there is bleeding during strained bowel movement. Could this be internal hemorrhoids?
