Painful hepatomegaly: When the liver inflames, it distends the covering of the liver called the capsule this capsule is invested with nerves that transmit pain when stretched by the enclosed but enlarging liver. Hepatomegaly (big liver) can reflect congestive, infiltrative, toxic, metabolic, infectious causes, to name a few. Eradicating your underlying hepatitis c is key. Liver detoxes, etc. Are a waste of time and $.

No: People have tried milk thistle, but it does not help the liver. Products like liver cleanse do not help the liver in patients with hepatitis c.
