Tonsils: If tonsils have whitish-reddish dots on them, it could be tonsillitis. Best to have your pcp take a look.

Tonsillar infection: Stones can persist for long time periods in tonsillar crypts. They should not create the feeling that you are describing. If this persists you should be examined and find out exactly what is going on.
