A member asked:

Can tonsil stones cause a feeling of obstruction in the throat and can it make it hard to eat solid foods?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The presence of bacterial colonies or food particles in the crypts of the tonsillar surface erroneously called tonsil stones should not by themselves cause obstruction in the throat. However, if the tonsils are very large, then with or without these above stated problems on the surface of the tonsils, you would be obstructed and have difficulty swallowing.
