THIRD DEGREE BURN: THIRD DEGREE BURN, is when the injury caused damage to the deeper layers resulting in blisters and eventual rupture. You need to be examined and the severity assessed . I usually will start a topical antibiotic like SILVADENE and an oral antibiotic like CEFTIN (cefuroxime). Depending on severity a consult with a BURN SPECIALIST OR PLASTIC SURGEON MAY BE WARRANTED.
