More info pls: At this age if he has been swimming, swimmers ear or an outer ear canal infection is common. Middle ear infections tend to develop earlier in life and then can continue. Other causes may include a foreign object, such as a pencil being placed in the canal and breaking off. More information is needed to give you management suggestions.
