Canker sore rinse: We've had the best luck using a prescription mouthwash called chlorhexidine, which is an antibacterial mouthwash that tends to decrease the severity and longevity of canker sores. Ask your dentist if this makes sense for your condition, because canker sores are like an auto-immune condition, aren't "cured" as much as managed with things like this rinse and avoiding foods that trigger.

No alcohol rinse: Please use a mouthwash that does not contain alcohol. Anything acidic can cause more pain.
