Dr. Amy Tezza answered

Tinea versicolor: The skin changes that occur with tinea versicolor can take a long time to change back to normal color. Limited sun exposure can sometimes help but mostly it needs time. The skin needs to recycle and new skin develop before the color change goes back to normal.
