Immunocompromised?: Fungal Proctitis occurs in Immunocompromised patients, Fungi like Candida albicans are normal inhabitants of the colonic and anorectal mucosa so most of the time they do not attack the rectal mucosa! I immunocompromised patients they may invade it in which case best to treat them with oral antifungal agents like Fluconazole tablets! If the infection is on the outside topical lotrimin cream is ok
