Costochondritis & MS: Sorry about your pain. Individuals with ms can get costochondritis similar to patients without ms. Contractions of small motor muscles between the ribs is once of the symptoms of ms. This is usually painful and may be confused with costochondritis. The pain from ms tends to be more diffuse than costochondritis and can involve the chest wall in a band like fashion (ms hug).

Unlikely: Costochondritis involves joint issues over sternum and chest wall and would be an additional co-morbidity not caused directly by the MS
