Many factors: Some tibial fractures are slow to heal, particularly those involving the front (anterior cortex). Are you a smoker or a diabetic? Healing is slower with smokers and diabetics. Ibuprofen and other nsaids may slow bony healing. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is fine. Are you following the recommendations of your physician with regards to bracing, weight-bearing status, etc? A bone stimulator may be a good option for you.

Depends on location : Also the rx. Lated, rodded, x-fix or casted. Proximal = good blood supply and heal well. The middle 1/3 has poorer supply & delayed unions r more frequent. Distal 1/3 supply improves and heal better. Solid fixation is important, which casting does not do. Other factors also. Smoking, vascular disease, diabetis among others.
