A member asked:

I had a successful knee replacement on may 6. i have progressed to walking up to 1 mile per day. i am having shin pain this week. is it common?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Do not rush it: Walking already 1 mile a day only 2 months after knee replacement is too much. The body and knee need more time to heal. Reduce walking amount and distances and spend more days working the strength and range of motion. This can be done on an exercise bike, which is less stressful on the newly replaced joint.
