Ask ur OrthopedicDoc: Whenever considering a procedure, be sure to tell your doc about any goals or deadlines that you might have coming up. Ask about expectations, pain (control), functional limitations, side effects, complications, etc. The best person to give you answers is surgeon who's going to operate on you, not someone on internet. Get a second opinion if you have time. Most clavicle fractures don't need surger.

Typically after: An open repair if a fracture full contact sports are not permitted until the fracture appears to be united on x-ray and motionand stregth have returned. Icant say how it affect you specifically.
