Foods: Just make sure that it hasn't sat out too long. Here are some basics on foods to avoid. Avoid deli meats & imported soft cheeses (listeria), raw meat (steak tartar), raw fish(sushi), raw shellfish, things made with raw eggs (salmonella), pate & refrigerated smoke seafood that is not subsequently cooked. No unwashed vegetables or fruit. Avoid alcohol & caffeinated beverages. Avoid mecury.

Surprisingly heavy.: It's OK as long as it hasn't been out for a while - risk of bacterial infection is it goes bad. You'd be surprised how many calories may be in chicken salad, between the chicken, mayonnaise, eggs, oil, and whatever else someone decides to throw in there for taste. Grilled chicken atop an actual salad with light dressing would be much leaner and healthier.
