Now: I don't see any reason you can't eat normally right now. I usually advised patients not to eat anything too hot, spicy or crunchy for one day after a tooth is pulled.

If you eat on : The opposite side the tooth was pulled, i think your okay to proceed. You may want to hold the croutons though.

After the site heals: You want to have soft foods and you want to avoid disturbing any sutures or blot clots. I do not know how difficult your surgery was, but if you are starting to feel "back to normal", then taking small bites and chewing on the opposite side of your mouth should not disturb the healing wound.

Ask your dentist: It will depend on the type of extraction that was performed by your dentist. Consult the dentist for directions on how to care for the extraction site.

When...........: Whenever you want to, as long as you feel up to it. It's better to eat on the other side for awhile and remember to gently rinse after meals to keep the socket clean. Don't let down on routine brushing and flossing as many patients avoid the area thinking that they will do some harm. Actually the opposite is true as you want to keep your mouth as clean as possible to avoid infections and promot.
