Swelling: Blood flow slows when one sits for a long period of time. That slowly can cause the blood become stagnant. If there is already compromised blood flow in the veins that can be a terrible combination and causes ankles & feet to swell. Your primary care physician and order a simple blood flow study to determine the serious nature of your problem.
