Anatomy: Blockage is a medical emergency. Rupture of the intestines, colon or even stomach can be life threatening. If you are moving stool you are probably not blocked, but constipated. There are a number of over the counter treatments for constipation. If you are not moving stool and are having intolerable pain or are throwing up stool then please get to the er.
