Get a consult: First, make sure she is following the advice of her physician treating her for the diabetes and that she has the diabetes controlled as much as possible. At the same time, have her seen by at least one dentist who will give her a complete and thorough examination along with a full series of x-rays. At that point the dentist will discuss all her options and which one is best for her.
