See details: You are absolutely correct. You cannot stop opioids suddenly. If there are no pain specialists in your area, talk with your primary care doctor if you have one. The doctor will hopefully handle your prescription until you can find a pain specialist. Call your local hospital and find out if they can recommend an appropriate doctor.

Suboxone: Call your state medical association and ask for a doctor who specializes in treating addictions with suboxone, you could also call your insurance carrier, either option should be able to give you names. My best.
