A member asked:

What's allergy shot made of? does it include egg substance? or anything that may cause food allergy or.. also does it contain hormone growth?

Allergy shot: If the allergy shot is prescribed by a board certified allergist it is a mixture of the allergens your reacted to on skin testing. It does not contain hormones or food. If it is something you receive from your primary or er it is usually a steroid injection and can be harmful on the long run.

Allergy shots: Allergy shots contains extracts of the various allergens to which you were positive on allergy testing such as grass pollen or dust mites etc. Allergy shots are done for inhalant allergens or stinging insects. There is no egg or food in allergy extracts nor other drugs.
